Now Let’s Teach It The Terrain

I’ve Been There

I started running in 2006, completed multiple half and full marathons, then discovered triathlon in 2008 - progressing from sprint distance to Ironman, with more than a dozen half Ironmans and four Ironmans over the last decade.

In 2023, I wanted something different and to find a way to incorporate one of my favorite outdoor activities, hiking, into my life. I bought a gravel bike and loved the idea of being in nature, mostly off the busy roads, and being in nature. Through hiking I started jogging one day and so my trail days began.

I quickly realized my endurance background was good for off-road adventures but it didn’t fully translate to my new environment and ways I was using and moving my body. The fitness transferred but the skills, type of strength, and approach were very different.

Since then, I’ve been on a journey and completed multiple gravel races, including a five day gravel adventure race with camping each night in Oregon, and progressed from 5k to 100k trail races.

Now I help other endurance athletes make the same transition- with more confidence, less guesswork, and a plan built for the terrain ahead.
